Sundew, cranberry and sphagnum moss I'm drawn by the flora of the raised mire at Meathop Moss when we're here seeking butterflies. Large Heath are on the wing but it's a nervous butterfly and rarely settles. I glimpse it, but that's all.
There 's a Clouded Buff on vegetation beside a tiny pool in the moss. And patches of sphagnum interwoven with cranberry plants, both trailing leaves and fruit. Like cranberry, sundew favours the wettest places. Some sundew have tiny white flowers(top left of image.)
