I've been set a challenge to count the erratics on Scout Scar. And I'have adapted it. So here's one entirely new to me and close to my route home. How could I have missed it? It lies surrounded by dense blackthorn shrubs, hidden from view. It's striking because of its size. And it's patterned with pistachio -coloured lichens. It's large enough for a pic-nic table.
I tell Kristina to listen for the cuckoo who should be returning here any time soon. His coming is a Rite of Spring, so I hope he's on his way.
